USI've had a great experience with First Light Farms. The elk meat comes packaged in dry ice, so it's very safe from a shipping and handling perspective. The back strap portions are always generous, which I appreciate. I cook it like a steak, medium rare, and it's perfect. One bonus is that I have heart disease and elk meat is considered very heart healthy, great substitute for beef.

USI had major surgery on the 30th of October. I will try our elk meat for Thanksgiving. I’m very excited about it. We love elk meat, but both my husband and myself have some health issues that prevent us from hunting anymore. We are both in our 70’s. My husband is 79 and I will be 74 January 1st. As I said, very excited to have it.

USMy first order of elk backstrap was magnificent! Tender and well-flavored. Unfortunately, my second order was a substitute **** which I did not enjoy. Please don't substitute costumers' orders.
