    Pricey But Worth It -- The Best Picanha You'll Ever Have!

    Eating 100% grass-fed & grass-finished beef has been a priority for me since I started following a 85-90% Carnivore diet back in 2016-17. I got hip to picanha around that same time & it has since become my favorite cut of beef. I never thought I'd be able to find picanha taken from 100% grass-fed Wagyu cattle here in the US. It took me 2 years to find First Light & your picanha was DEFINITELY worth the wait! I made it on Valentine's Day, served it with homemade chimichurri & It Was The Best Steak I've Ever Had! I had never tried Wagyu before despite having read about it for years. IMO it was a whole lotta hype over beef that wasn't even 100% grassfed, which is the healthiest beef you can consume. I've spent years telling everyone I know that "Everything you put in your mouth will either improve your health or damage it" & trying to teach friends & family about the importance of eating the most healthful foods you can find. So I was never interested in paying a king's ransom for a Wagyu steak that was finished on grains. Plus the marbling on the most expensive Wagyu seems over-the-top IMO. I don't want a steak that's 60 or 70% fat, not when I enjoy the rich beefy flavor of the muscle meat so much. But your Wagyu picanha was rich, flavorful, very tender & perfectly delicious! I won't be able to afford it often, but it will definitely be at the top of my list when I'm in the mood for an extraordinary steak. Thank you for going to the trouble of breeding Wagyu cattle & raising them the right way, on pasture all year long.     Great quality picanha

    Great quality picanha, had good marbling with a nice fat cap on it, cooked up nicely and tasted delicious

    Great Quality

    I regularly purchase my meats from First Light, I did in New Zealand and I do now in the USA. The quality of the different cuts is first class, what ever the cut or rating. The meat is delivered frozen in just a couple of days ready for cutting and freezing, or cooking. I easily recommend First Light !

    Very tasty but...

    Overall, the picanha was delicious and very easy to prepare. However, the fat cap was exceedingly thick. I've bought picanha from several places, including Costco, and you never see a fat cap an inch thick. You're paying based on weight so at least a third to a half of the product was the fat cap. Normally I've seen about a quarter of an inch.
