Good quality sausages make all the difference in this delicious classic comfort food dish. An oldie but a goodie, First Light venison sausages are the hero of this dish — perfectly cooked in a rich tasty sauce with just the right amount of onions and apple.
- Heat a large fry pan with oil and cook sausages until browned and just slightly under-cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan gently fry garlic and onions until soft.
- Add remaining ingredients to form the sauce, bring to the boil to simmer for 10 minutes. Add apple and sausages into sauce, turn to low and simmer gently for 10 minutes to finish off cooking the sausages.
- Simmer potatoes in salted water for 30 minutes or until cooked through. Drain well then mash with milk and butter. Season with extra salt if needed.
