Asian glazed venison meatball nibbles

Impress your mates with these easy, delicious glazed venison meatballs as a gourmet appetizer or bulk them up with rice or noodles and Asian veggies to make a meal for four.

Method

  1. To make meatballs, combine meatball ingredients and mix well. Roll into approximately 24 balls. Cover and refrigerate until required.
  2. To make glaze, combine all ingredients in a small pot and gently heat until sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  3. Add 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil to a large frying pan and bring to medium heat. If you'd prefer bite-sized meatballs, break each meatball in half and roll into 2 smaller ones.
  4. Brown meatballs on all sides, then remove from heat leave meatballs in the warm pan for approximately 3 minutes to allow them to cook through.

Serve

Pour glaze over meatballs, then arrange glazed meatballs on a platter or plate. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced scallions.

Serve meatballs with tooth picks and napkins as a fantastic gourmet appetiser.

This recipe also works well served with rice or noodles and Asian veg.
